  Senior Producer and Prime Time Anchor

  I started as a field reporter and producer at India Today. My reportage was multifaceted and have covered diverse subject matters—economic, political and cultural. I covered various Indian elections, Financial Budget presentations, festive and cultural events from all parts of the country while ensuring the accuracy and speed of the story getting on air. As a Senior Producer and News Anchor I’ve had two stints with the India Today group, before and after my Teach For India Fellowship. In my first role as an anchor/producer I have covered some of the biggest news events of significant geopolitical and national importance, including 3 US Presidential Elections, 2004 Tsunami, 2005 Mumbai Deluge, 2005 London Blasts, Jessica Lal & Priyadarshini Mattoo case (anchor/field reporting), War on Terror in Iraq, 2009 General Elections, Mumbai Terror Attacks in 2008 etc... I have reported and covered various assembly elections. In addition to the above I anchored and produced a show called WORLD TODAY along with Voice Of America (VOA). Produced and anchored the channel’s breakfast show HEADSTART. Produced and anchored the channel’s primetime show HEADLINES TONIGHT. I have also anchored a few shows on Aaj Tak. Show less

  Teach For India

  I took a break from my profession in search of a larger cause to serve the community. I applied and joined the Teach for India fellowship, a social impact programme modelled on Teach For America to transform low income communities and schools. My classroom was nominated for Transformational Impact Journey, the top 1% classrooms that are studied to understand success factors that underlie exceptional teacher and student outcomes. I had the privilege of meeting Wendy Kopp, Co-Founder of Teach for All who visited my classroom and interacted with my students. Show less

  My second phase as a producer and anchor saw me serving as the anchor and face of the channel’s daily broadcast with an air-time of more than 4 hours everyday. During my time I covered some big news stories like Triple Talaq Ban, Intolerance Row, Abrogation of article 370, Uri attacks, Doklam standoff, Sabrimala temple entry controversy and many more. Since 2007 I have taken a leading role in coordinating and interviewing prominent personalities at the India Today Conclave, the flagship event of the group which provides a platform for thought leaders from all walks of life to come together and served as the event's principal host.
