      As a full-time Air Guard Technician, I conducting scheduled safety inspections to identify workplace hazards and compliance violations of Air Force Occupational Safety and Health (AFOSH) Program. Recommend corrective actions and engineering or procedural changes with follow-up actions to ensure abatement. Complete and submit accident and investigation reports through Headquarters Staff to identify trends and develop corrective actions. I developed Supervisory Safety training programs and initiatives to reduce the frequency, severity and costs of accidents and occupational illness in aircraft maintenance/flight line activities, transportation, civil engineering, sheet metal/fabrication/machine shops, fire department/suppression systems, food service, supply/warehouse/materials handling, medical facilities, weapons/munitions storage, and hazardous waste disposal. I was selected as a member of the Inspector General Team to conduct safety assessments of other Guard units. While working full-time, I completed my A.A.S. in Safety Technology in 1986 and B.S. in Aviation Management in 1985. After transferring to the Hawaii Air Guard in 1991, I became First Sergeant, IG team member and after 24 years retired honorably as Master Sergeant (E-7). Show less
