  • Worked under the guidance of Dr. V. Padmavathi. • The research project included developing an experiment to conduct Tilt shear test to measure the shear strength of soil samples (>20 mm). • The soil samples were extracted from a federal irrigation dam site called "Pranahitha chevalla". The main focus of this experiment was to determine the horizontal and vertical displacements of the soil sample when excessive hydraulic loading was being applied to it on regular intervals. • At the point where soil sample would attain failure under the failure load, the horizontal and vertical displacements were measured. This horizontal and vertical displacements from the original state of soil sample were then utilized to determine the internal angle of friction of the soil samples.The internal angle of friction was useful in determining the shear strength of soil sample.• It was an honor to develop a new experiment in our university and implement it successfully.   Thesis : Analysis of Engine Oil Degradation Based on Fleet Oil Sampling• Worked under the guidance of Dr. John Hildreth for an NCDOT research project on Construction Fleet. • The proposed project was designed to evaluate the effects of extended oil drain intervals for machines in the NCDOT fleet, and to correlate fuel consumption and oil performance.• The effects of extending oil drain intervals were studied by regularly sampling and analyzing oil of machines on an extended PM program.
