  The Application Development Division uses big seismic data heavily on daily bases.This big data was stored using on an old version of Elasticsearch.My task was to re-implement a storage solution with the latest version of Elasticsearch and fine tune the performance to execute quires more efficiently.During my summer internship I was able to deploy the newer version,improve the performance, and develop a RESTful API using python's Flask framework for easier integration.Key activities:- Developed an ETL pipeline to extract seismic data from .SEGY files, format it, then index it into an Elasticseach instance.- Developed a more optimized version of Elasticsearch for seismic data.- Developed a RESTful API for the Elasticsearch search engine to help other teams acess the data.
