  My role as an Education and Engagement Specialist was based within Newcastle Bridges School part of Prosper Learning Trust. My role was to re-engage those students who were at risk of disengagement in education. I used sports sessions and also general 1-1 to re-engage students. I was tasked with meeting KPI’s and also time management within a case load of 39 students all of which maintained there education and were able to complete Entry Level and GSCE courses to then go on to further education. The success rate of this programme was 100% with all young people going on to obtain qualifications and go on to further education. This role was then cut due to funding changes (ESF).   Short Breaks Programme Manager (North East)

  I am currently the manager of the programme for Durham and Redcar and Cleveland. My role includes organisation of staff members, participant recruitment and booking, facilities management, reports, liaising with key stake holders and organisation of care support. All of the programmes are commissioned by Middlesborough, Redcar and Cleveland and Durham County Council, therefore I have to provide monthly engagement reports and ensure requirements of funding are met. The sessions are for children and siblings with additional needs, to offer a respite to parents and a provision for the children. The sessions include sport as the main focus but also involve arts and crafts, sensory play and swimming sessions. Show less

  Senior Youth Worker

  I currently help support the youth clubs for Coxhoe and Quarrington Hill. I am the sports lead within the youth clubs which means I devise quarterly activity plans for the Friday night sessions. We host a variety of sports to keep the young people engaged, as well as offering other opportunities for personal development. During the COVID pandemic, our services changed to online. This meant I was able to devise activity plans to do at home as well as creating fun and innovating ideas to continue to engage our young people.Recently I have been promoted to Senior Youth Worker, my responsibilities include; leading session, sourcing funding, managing staff and liaising with key stakeholders and county councillors.   Supporting the football development team in achieving its KPI’s and objectives detailed within the FA Strategy. Supporting the Head of Football Development and Operations in day to day tasks. Ensuring football clubs within North Riding maintain safeguarding standards, ensuring all children, young people and adults at risk are protected within the game. Deputising for the Designated Safeguarding officer at North Riding FA when on annual leave. This can include dealing with serious cases, low level concerns and poor practise. Additionally acting as a sounding board for the DSO for any campaigns and projects. At North Riding I lead on; Women and Girls and Disability. I work towards the FA national strategy within the localised area of North Riding FA ensuring our KPI’s are met within my designated areas of work. Within my role I am fortunate to be able to design and implement various projects, to work towards these targets.
