Tasked with Vodafone’s introduction of Fixed residential broadband services based on LTE with responsibilities including:Broadband CPE integration with data and VoIP servicesCPE management based on Auto Configuration Server (ACS) relying on CWMP/TR-69Broadband capacity management and forecastQoS and monitoring of QoE for customersManaging installations and 3rd Line support Working closely with commercial team to launch and support product Responsible for the design of an international OTN/SDH network with submarine redundancy and diverse routing to provide PoPs at international data centres as well as a national OTN network. Representative of MECMA submarine cable consortium for Vodafone Malta and Vodafone’s representative on-board the cable repair-ship during a second submarine cable repair operation. Overall responsibility for Transport networks as well as involvement in the operation of Core IP and Access network technologies including:Intranet LAN switches, L3 Core network switches/routers, Internet Gateway routers & MetroEthernet switches all based on Cisco technologyMPLS-based Access networkP-to-P Microwave linksResponsible for the introduction of a submarine cable monitoring system based on AIS together with other submarine cable operators in Malta and Europe. Responsible for the design and operation of the National and International Transport networks including:Submarine cable networkPhysical fibre networkDWDM networkSDH NetworkResponsible for a major overhaul of the transport network to commission a resilient SDH national network as well as a swap-out of the submarine network equipment with new DWDM nodes expanding the international capacity. I was also involved in a submarine cable repair operation.

  Overall responsibility for all Fixed & Enterprise services and the conceptual design, launch and operation of a new FTTH network in Malta together with a team of engineers and technicians. Responsibility includes negotiating contracts with contractors, sourcing of all the passive & active elements, monitoring contractors and network performance as well as overseeing the High Level and Low Level design and operation and maintenance of the network. Responsibility also includes involvement in developing the FTTH business case and product launches with finance and marketing respectively as well as periodically reviewing operational and financial performance.
