Overseeing the compliance work on overhauls of mainline locomotives by ensuring all materials were obtained from vetted suppliers and that Certificates of Conformity were present as well as ensuring all tests on locomotives by HNRC staff were logged and signed off and evidence existed that the staff member carrying out those tests was competent to do so.   I work with major customers such as Tarmac and Mendip Rail to improve performance and right time departures through identifying issues within the train plan, which in cause congestion in terminals and then proactively resolve them through alterations to the train plan and staff coverage. As part of this work I have instigated a Visual Rail Plan with Tarmac at their Tunstead site which has enabled a clearer and more robust approach to planning arrivals and departures of trains and relieve terminal congestion, this in turn has improved departure times from the terminal and enabled a more timely and reliable delivery of product to customers whilst also improving performance on the national rail network.As part of my role I also challenge any nationwide delays incorrectly attributed to Freightliner - in turn identifying and correcting recurring issues which have a negative impact on both Freightliner and other users of the rail network.
