  • Supervisor: Dr LOK Chiu Ming (Director, consultant in Nuclear Medicine) • Received a basic introduction of nuclear medicine along with a tour of equipment in nuclear medicine, PET-CT/MRI scanner and the cyclotron. • Observed the PET-CT imaging process and nuclear medicine procedures including thyroid scintigraphy, adrenal cortical NP-59 imaging, lymphoscintigraphy, bone scan, myocardial perfusion scan, sentinel node injection and DMSA scan.• Gained the basic understanding of the principles of radiation protection, radioactive substance handling, SPECT and PET-CT imaging.• Learnt indications and how to interpret PET-CT scan with radiotracers such as 18F-FDG, 11C-acetate, 68Ga-PSMA and 68Ga-Dotate.• Observed the discussion of iodine radioactive therapy with a patient with recurrent thyrotoxicosis. • Attended the best practice sharing and learnt about radioligand therapy (177 Lu-dotatate) in gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumours.
