      Responsible for all site employees and operations in accordance with legislation at the Aldeby site in Norfolk. Accountable for the preparation and implementation of budgets, with profit accountability, sales co-ordinator, monitoring of landfill gas, leachate and groundwater systems with data interpretation, as well as regular meetings with the general public and regulators.

      Following the restructuring of Shanks Waste Service Ltd in early 2003 I was made responsible for 11 landfill operations across North England, Wales and Scotland with the objective of streamlining and enhancing these businesses.During this period I was also heavily involved in the production and verification of financial, property and environmental disclosures as part of the sale of Shanks Waste Services Limited to Terra Firma Capital Partners, as well as also providing information on behalf of Terra Firma in relation to the Office of Fair Trading requirements. The sale of Shanks Waste Services to Terra Firma Capital Partners was successfully completed on 1st July 2004, with the business integrated into Waste Recycling Group (WRG). Show less Responsible for all of the operations owned by Shanks Waste Service Ltd within the South of England, consisting of 18 household waste recycling centres, 7 transfer stations, 2 material recycling facility, 4 vehicle depots (total collection fleet of 75 commercial vehicles), 2 composting facilities, 5 active landfill sites, 1 clay quarry, 1 rail ballast facility and 1 inert recycling operation.As a whole the region handled 4.2 million tonnes per annum, as well as utilising landfill gas to produce 59.2 MW of electricity.Reporting directly to the Managing Director. Full profit accountability with an annual turnover of £122 million, EBITDA of £32 million, annual capital responsibility of over £20 million, as well as responsible for 337 employees.Responsible for all commercial, legislative, and current / future business aspects of the region, as well as heavily involved with the approved £100 million integrated waste management facility planning application (2003), known as the Green Milton Keynes Centre (GMKC), incorporating 10 Ecodeco Bio-MRF’s, each with a capacity of c.60,000 tonnes per annum. Show less Overall responsibility for all landfill operations, along with their associated composting and mineral recycling facilities, at the Brogborough, Bletchley and Calvert sites between August 1998 to April 2000.Manager of the Brogborough site in Bedfordshire, a 196 hectare site receiving over 2.2 million tonnes per annum of Industrial, Municipal and Special waste by road between May 1996 to August 1998.Manager of the Calvert site in Buckinghamshire, a 140 hectare site receiving 600,000 tonnes per annum of Industrial, Municipal and Special waste by road and rail between August 1993 to May 1996.       Waste Recycling Group (WRG) was sold by Terra Firma Capital Partners to FCC (Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas) on 17th July 2006.Responsible for all operational facilities across North West England, North Wales and Scotland through a variety of activities including Material Recovery, Recycling and Refuse Derived Fuel Facilities, In-Vessel and Open Windrow Composting, Household Waste Recycling Centres, Transfer Stations and Landfill. Consisting of 33 sites with 54 facilities; 21 household waste recycling centres, 3 material recycling facilities, 2 refuse derived fuel facilities (RDF), 4 transfer stations, 1 in-vessel composting facility, 2 open windrow composting facilities, 9 active landfill sites, 6 leachate treatment plants, and 6 vehicle operating centres (total collection fleet of 21 commercial vehicles).The region also included Wrexham PFI Limited and FCC Wrexham PFI (Phase II) Limited, with the £150m contract variation for the construction and operation of a Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) facility secured in March 2013. A new refuse derived fuel facility and transfer station was also constructed as part of FCC's service delivery to Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWaC) and Cheshire East Council respectively.As a whole the region handled 1.8 million tonnes per annum, with 319,000 tonnes recycled and 130,000 tonnes of RDF.Reporting directly to the UK Operations Director. Full profit accountability with an annual turnover of £58 million, EBITDAP of £19 million, annual capital responsibility of over £12 million, as well as responsible for 209 employees. Show less

      Responsible for all Commercial, Financial, Operational and Contract matters associated with the 25 year, £700m, Public Private Partnership (PPP) contract with former Cumbria County Council, which was awarded to Shanks Waste Management on 4th June 2009, along with the remaining former Dumfries & Galloway PFI assets.The Cumbria contract incorporates the processing and recycling of around 200,000 tonnes of household waste per annum, with the provision of two new 75,000 tonnes per annum Resource Parks located at Hespin Wood near Carlisle and Barrow-in-Furness, centred upon treatment of residual waste using proven Ecodeco Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) technology, as well as responsible for the management of all of the Household Waste Recycling Centres across Cumbria.Renewi UK Services Ltd was acquired by Biffa on 10th October 2024. The Dumfries and Galloway contract incorporated the processing and recycling of around 95,000 tonnes of household waste per annum, with the provision of one new 70,000 tonnes per annum Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) plant on the outskirts of Dumfries, centred upon treatment of residual waste using proven Ecodeco MBT technology, as well as responsible for the management of all of the Household Waste Recycling Centres across Dumfries and Gallloway, and the development of a 18,000 tonnes per annum composting plant near Stranraer and a new Waste Transfer Station and Household Waste Recycling Centre in Stewartry.
