    • Anchor Science LLC

      Sept 2005 - now
      President and CEO, co-owner

The Company is focused on uses of nanocarbon composites and new thermal management options for cooling medium and high power density devices and installations. Its core capabilities are in design, synthesis and evaluation of carbon allotropic composites. Its patented thermometric carbon composite is the substrate for Dynamic Thermal Interface Material, D-TIM, and predecessor of BNS bio-nanosensor. D-TIM exhibits large and reversible decrease of thermal resistance with temperature, a novel property potentially useful in many industries ranging from electronics, energy, communications, to transportation and life sciences. Opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reductions range from simple replacement of traditional materials during product updates to development of thermal management software leveraging D-TIM’s modulation of heat transfer. Because it has built-in performance enhancement, D-TIM is a breakthrough in heat transfer technology. D-TIM can lower temperature of thermally-vulnerable components and lower amplitude of thermal excursions. The floor of opportunity can be assessed by the value lost to thermal failures, over $15 billion in 2010. About 30 to 55 % of semiconductor failures are attributable to overheating. Show less
