As a head of unit of Maintenance Planning, I was responsible for maintenance planning for transmission plants and equipment with LKR 500 Million annual maintenance budget and 4 engineers, 2 technicians, a store keeper and 5 supporting staff. Responsible for: • Management of Maintenance Planning Section• Setting and management of maintenance budget• The development of a transmission maintenance programme in consultation with system control, system planning, generation planning and transmission & distribution projects• Preparation of monthly and annual reports on maintenance performance against technical and budgetary targets• Ensuring that the asset register, maintenance records and other information system are accurately and efficiently maintained• The initiation and implementation of a planned preventive maintenance system for the whole transmission network leading to 75%+ reduction in unplanned breakdowns. • Preparing and distributing various reports in timely manner and provide training for engineers. • Procurement of spares for entire transmission division of CEB and use computerized coordination for inputting data with the proper monitoring of inventory systems.
