      Collaborated with other Non-Profit and Service Learning Organizations to provide students with short-term service learning and long-term volunteer opportunities. Planned and facilitated a large-scale event, called ‘AB Volunteer Day,’ in which all of our members (about 150) were assigned to work at a non-profit organization based in Grand Rapids (e.g., The Humane Society, YWCA, Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanity and The Healthy Homes Coalition, among others) for a day. Hosted a Volunteer Fair for local NGO’s and student organizations at AB’s end-of-the-year event (including Teach for America, The Red Cross, Amnesty International, etc.) Responsible for site leader training and leadership, including training effective facilitation of civic reflection and teaching the dynamics and utility of the Active Citizen Continuum to help site leaders and participants understand their place on it and move toward becoming an active citizen. Worked alongside Indonesian counterparts teaching English as a foreign language for 10th and 11th grade students at a vocational high school in a remote, rural region.
