  -Representing over 6000+ students at OCAD University as the Executive Director position fulfills the role and responsibilities of the Chair of the Finance Committee. -Oversees all significant financial and legal matters involving the OCAD Student Union.-Oversees the administration of the OCAD Health and Dental Plan and, as needed, reports to the Board of Directors on all pertinent facts of the plan, including changes in cost and coverage.-Ensures that the Student Union, in collaboration with the Manager of HR and Administration, adheres to the OCAD Student Union's HR Policies for both the OCAD SU and Xpace, and serves as a resource for staff on personnel issues.-Supervises Student Union Project Grants and Micro Grants, serves on the Ancillary Fee Committee as a voting member, and regularly attends OCAD SU Board of Governors meetings.-A part of the Programming Selection Committee for Xpace Cultural Centre. Show less Oversee the operation of the OCAD Student Union’s Student Pantry:-Ensuring food, toiletries and class supplies are stocked and available to studentsat all times during open office hours by establishing and maintaining a system to keep supplies stocked. -Liaise with Campus Life to promote the Student Pantry and to solicit donationsfrom various OCAD University department Donation Bins and seasonal food drives.-Create supplementary resources focused on nutrition, health and wellbeing foraccess alongside the Student Pantry. Examples include: delicious, easy-to-followrecipes, lists of community support services on and off campus including other foodbanks.-Work with fellow Student Union employees as well as Student Union Executivesfor Outreach and Events as well as Campaigns and Advocacy to develop internalcampaigns on Food Security issues that affect OCAD U Students; i.e. food security, foodsovereignty, poverty and access to food.   The Federation's 2023 lobby research and recommendations were provided to Members of Parliament and Senators over the week of February 26-March 3rd, 2023.The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, record inflation, and a surging cost of living have severely impacted student well-being and the ability to attain a Post-Secondary Education. As a CFS delegate, I attended four meetings, bringing forward recommendations to the members of Parliament and Senators. I had the opportunity to meet and converse with MPP Tom Rakocevic, MPP Nolan Quinn, MPP Peggy Sattler and MPP Teresa Armstrong. I had the opportunity to discuss concerns surrounding increased financial uncertainty, homelessness, food insecurity, mental health needs, differential tuition fees and OHIP coverage for International students. Along with Crucial services, like sexual violence centres and publictransportation, the struggle to receive fair andadequate funding to meet students' needs. Show less
