      Activities and Societies: Graduate Certificate in Gender Studies 2016 My research looks into the ways queer organizations rhetorically persuade combative audiences. My thesis is entitled "Queer New Norms: A Rhetorical Analysis of Equality Utah's Queer Political Strategies." Other research specialities include: rhetoric of sexual assault survivors, student success, and teaching writing composition.

      As a Writing adjunct instructor, I taught both 2010 and 1010 classes as the instructor on record. My students and I wrestled daily with questions of power dynamics, privilege, and persuasion through rhetoric. My favorite texts to teach include "Borderlands" by Gloria Anzaldua, the film "Psycho" and performance poetry.
