      -Working in the Mario Ostrowski Lab in the Department of Immunology on a project involving the induction of a CD8 and CD4 T-cell response to the expression of Human Endogenous Retrovirus K (HERV-K) RNA in acute HIV-infected treatment naive dendritic cells.-Over the course of an 8 month co-op work term, attempting to develop the protocol for this project, including steps involving HERV-K DNA transcription, monocyte isolation, electroporation, dendritic cell culturing, co-cultures, and T cell proliferation assays.-Learned a variety of laboratory skills and proper sterile technique for use in a Level 2 Biosafety tissue culture lab with a biosafety cabinet.
