Leading the Prince's (now King's) Trust International youth programmes in Asia, the Middle East and Europe. I joined the organisation during its start-up phase in 2018, whist it quadrupled in size.As part of my role I worked directly with local NGOs, government bodies and the private sector to support young people into work, education or training as well as those who seek to become entrepreneurs. To achieve this we delivered a range of programmes that already had a successful track record elsewhere or, where necessary and more appropriate, we designed context specific solutions to existing problems faced by young people.Responsibilities included:• Building and managing the Trust's international portfolio of programmes across the Middle East and Asia • Identifying and setting up strong regional partnerships for the support and delivery of programmes • Undertaking new-country scoping to identify future areas of delivery • Development of the programmatic offer and strategy through continuous learning and evaluation • Line management of the International Programmes Executives for MENA and Asia • More than doubled project outcomes and ensured the adoption of a gender lens across programmes. Show less Secondment:• Undertaking scoping to identify young people’s needs and gaps in existing provision in Malaysia • Designing and setting-up context-specific solutions to problems faced by young people in the education, employability and skills building space • Building effective relationships with a wide range of local stakeholders (government, education bodies, NGOs, private sector) to support young people through their education and build the skills required to gain sustainable employment • Securing local funding for ongoing project delivery • Building delivery partner capacity through training and sharing experience from The Prince's Trust UK • Acting Head of Delivery during Covid-19 furlough period (5 months): Managing a team of partners across Asia, re-designing programmes to accommodate effective online delivery of employability, entrepreneurship and skills building projects for hard-to reach populations.
