      Summer Student, Bachelor Student

Exploring the possibilities of detecting Cherenkov light emitted from air showers of primary gamma-rays by Cherenkov telescopes at different locations. The studies included extensive simulations in order to understand the influence of the geomagnetic field on the sensitivity of gamma-ray observatories. Project: Studies of the influence of the geomagnetic field on the sensitivity of gamma-ray observations

    • DESY

      Nov 2013 - now

I explored the possibilities of detecting Cherenkov light emitted from gamma rays at the highest energies. These measurements take place at the VERITAS observatory in southern Arizona in the United States. My thesis work contains understanding the physics phenomena, programming the data analysis software using machine learning algorithms and checking the hardware used. During the doctoral program, I participated in several observing shifts at the VERITAS observatory.Doctoral thesis: High-sensitivity analysis of the Cygnus region observed with VERITAS Show less

      Learning Facilitator

Providing an opportunity for 14-18-year old students to discover astroparticle physics by organising astroparticle masterclasses at high schools and institutes. In addition, I gave workshops to high-school teachers on astroparticle physics and supervised high-school students during small research projects.
