The job also involved working on general electrics, charging systems and engine management systems.Later in my career I moved to workshops were I repaired systems to component level using automated test equipment and oscilloscopes, meters, signal generators and circuit diagrams. I was also the maintainer of the automated test equipment after attending the manufacturer's course.I also worked on AS90 Artillery self-propelled gun, again involved with turret and fire control systems and engine management. I became the chief turret inspector for the Regiment and was involved in annual inspections and the investigation of serious incidents. I also had to train new technicians ensuring that they gained enough knowledge and experience to attain class 2 status.One of my 6 month tours in Bosnia was spent travelling around the country as deputy of an asset tracking team that helped me develop a lot of people skills as we were dealing with foreign nationals in other armed forces as well as locals.
