  For 13 years, I successfully owned and managed The Bloom Agency, a full-service marketing, advertising and public relations agency. In January 2014, I decided to transfer ownership of the Agency to my longtime colleague, JG Wolfe. This orderly transition was part of the succession plan that we had in place for quite some time.I’m very proud of the company my colleagues and I have built over the past thirteen years. From the start we had an unusual business model. We never availed ourselves of the commissions and mark-ups that are common among conventional agencies. We always focused on helping to grow our clients’ businesses, and we have been conscientious stewards of their resources. Over the years our best work was done as the virtual marketing director and marketing department of our client organizations. Nurturing and furthering these relationships of trust has been my best reward.To that end, I have launched my own next adventure: Bloom Consulting. I am using my experience and skills as an entrepreneur, business owner and team builder to help other business leaders increase their personal and business success.   In this two-year full-time position,I provide leadership and management for all aspects of day-to-day operations of the Symphony. I have primary accountability for leading and directing the following business functions: finance/audit/budgeting; marketing/public relations/box office; education; information technology; human resources; administration/talent management;contract negotiation; vendor management; legal; miscellaneous industry/other reporting; monitoring and support, as required,for artistic operations functions.In addition,I assist in developing organization policies, procedures and business plans; in responding to requests for industry, advocacy and civic support; and in handling other duties as assigned by the President & CEO.
