      This is a diverse role which is difficult to capture under one title but my focus includes development of our ON2net online community (for clients and business partners), marketing, social media, resource creation and publishing. I lead the ON-Brand customer experience team as well as our design studio, sales administration function and day-to-day office management.The ON2net is an online learning community that connects OBP, our clients and business partners who can access resources, insights, and work together on common challenge and opportunities. My role as community manager is to create and curate content that challenges the thinking and mindsets of our 1700 members. It's all about opening them up to new perspectives, and learning how to collaborate with other members to build collective knowledge. This encourages and supports them to break out of their comfort zones, practice todays critical leadership skills, and embrace change. Online communities are a new way of doing business but I believe they should be standard in any organisation that wants to remain competitive, in a business world that is all about agility and disruption. Online communities are all about using the latest digital technology to achieve better collaboration, communication and the leveraging of all the great knowledge an organisation already has, but largely hidden beneath the surface. As Lewis Platt, the former Chairman, President and CEO of HP once said "If HP knew what HP knows, it would be three times more profitable"In 2016, the ON2net was a finalist in the global Jive Software Awards and highly commended by the judges.My role also involves working with clients to design, develop and manage their own online communities ensuring they get the engagement and adoption they need.       The role of Village Manager is truly a diverse general management role in a very people focussed industry.Under my watch are 280+ great team members who together care for, support and build a quality life for some 700 residents with varying needs. We are all about the people and very much live up to Ryman’s ethos of making everything we do ‘good enough for our own Mum and Dad’.No one day is the same as I oversee the clinical team, one of New Zealand's largest aged care centres, hotel services (food and beverage, laundry, housekeeping, gardening, maintenance), activities, events, health and safety, communication, recruitment, property and village administration functions. Building strong resident and family relationships throughout ensures we meet satisfaction and occupancy KPI’s.This is probably both the most demanding, and rewarding job I have held, as I guide families and residents through challenging times, and major life stage changes. Natural empathy and being a very human leader is what counts here to build trust, enduring relationships and business performance.In my time at Ryman I have opened the doors of the Murray Halberg Village, temporarily managed eight other Ryman villages in a roaming role and now manage New Zealand's largest village, Edmund Hillary.
