    • Pak-Lite, Inc. (PLI)

      Jan 2002 - Apr 2024

BIOI started out with Paklite as a machine operator for the first five years. I learned every machine on the floor and not just how to run them but to work on them as well. From there I was moved into shipping and receiving where we handled all of our inventory control, I was in that position for about 10 months. I was moved back to the production floor and became the first shift supervisor. This is where I handled the scheduling of the floor, and at that time we only had two shifts, so I helped with scheduling on second shift as well. After a year of doing this, I was promoted to production manager, where I handled all the scheduling between three shifts including payroll and hiring. While in this position, I also worked with safety and quality extremely close. After around five years of doing this, I was given the title of plant manager and of course, was given a few more direct reports. That consisted of maintenance, shipping and receiving, scheduling, quality, and safety. I was involved in day-to-day operations, KPI’s and separate company quality audits. I cut PO’s, handled contracts, forklifts, trucks, outside maintenance on vehicles, trash and recyclable removal. If there were issues as far as quality out in the field, my quality personnel, engineer and myself would fly to Kentucky or Ohio to take care of the situation. At the end of my 22-year tenure I was training to be the GM. I was given additional responsibilities and direct reports. That consisted of being at every senior meeting, which was twice a year in Atlanta. I managed purchasing, customer service, engineering which attributed to additional direct reports (9 direct reports). For the last couple of years I was more involved in the pricing of our new products. I would also put a APQP meeting together meaning I would get our scheduler engineer, purchaser, and customer service all together to make sure we could make this part on time and profitable. I hope these details are helpful. Thanks Show less
