      Initially engaged based on the feedback from commissioning and operator training undertaken at Headingly WTP. Then went on to develop schemes such as the Doncaster region chloramine programme. Esk WTP upgrade, Headingly WTP Ozone/BAC upgrade; the detailed design phase of Sham Tseng and Nau Tam Mei WTP (Hong Kong) and the membrane studies for cryptosporidium and giardia removal.In early 1998 I was requested to meet with Gammon Construction, Black & Veatch and Water Supply Dept (HK), where I was offered the independent secondment position of design validation and verification/ M&E project coordinator, for the US$575 million 440 ML/d WTP. I was awarded the position based on my broad MEICA experience of projects of similar size and complexity and because of Client skills.       Responsible for overall design management, commissioning and delivery of projects up to US$120 million D&C and DBFO projects. Starting with asset and operational audits, through to MEICA construction and commissioning management plus the training of staff/operators with local and international venues. As part of the senior business management team I was responsible for the developing pursuit strategies with direct Client contact through to project award. In many cases this included developing multi-national and multi-cultural engineering teams that could work within the Chinese design institute culture and then progress through to construction and commissioning supervision and management. The focus over the past 2 years has been on engaging, proactive Client and staff engagement to improve delivery, technical excellence and safety in design. This strategy has led to an increase in sole tender and detailed design contracts, which brings into play the greater company resources. The next phase of the strategy is to interface more with the International design offices, were strategic employee engagement provides direct access to key project references and experience.
