  Collaborated on a team to conduct research into viral genes and biological pathways involved in immune response, with implications toward personalized medicine.Indicium is an undergraduate research competition that aims to provide students with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of critical topics in STEM through scientific research in these fields. Teams of students conduct an original research project alongside a mentor in the area of their choice.   Collaborated on an interdisciplinary team of students to tackle the challenge of sustainable food access in low-income communities by starting a seed library initiative in East Scarborough. Played a critical role in project design and planning, directed the iteration process, conducted research, delivered presentations and project pitches to key stakeholders, designed digital media content, was crucial in project setup and launch, created a website design and co-created a digital portfolio. Investigated post-secondary decision-making strategies during the pandemic. Manually curated a novel dataset, conducted statistical analysis and co-first-authored a published scientific manuscript. Completed an Honours Thesis in the Bayfield lab investigating whether tRNA modification enzymes possess an additional chaperone activity.

Projects include coral nursery maintenance, calculating the Bahamas 2024 coral spawning predictions, exploring techniques for restoration of key reef grazers, and investigating heat-stress tolerance in larval-stage corals.Co-teaching a junior research class on sustainable design through repurposing of importation packaging and local plant fibres. Supported research projects on small-island sustainable systems, marine conservation, fisheries and food security in The Bahamas. Conducted data collection & marine fieldwork, gained open water and advanced SCUBA certification, advised a junior research class on sustainable lobster aquaculture, and maintained coral nursery & wetlab.
