  Temporary Seasonal Sales Assistant

  This was my first experience of working in retail. It was a demanding and fast paced temporary role in which I worked in a large team to prepare the store for the upcoming Christmas sale. On the sale day, my role was to ensure sale items in store were presented well.

  During my time at Greggs, I was able to improve my retail and customer service skills greatly. I served customers on a daily basis and worked alongside a team of fellow employees to meet the customer's needs. I acquired skills such as carrying out transactions (using a cash till), cleaning the store, preparing the stock and communicating well in a team. My experience of working in a food retail environment allowed me to gain high levels of food hygiene and excellent customer service skills.

  Part-time employment alongside MRes course during second lockdown, in which I provided excellent customer service while working on a cash till and collaborated with a team of colleagues to display products professionally. I also gained new skills such as using helium tanks to blow up helium balloons and exhibited creativity to design balloon arrangements. Overall I developed confidence when carrying out sales and assisting customers with purchases.
