Client: OMED (Ohkawa Mould Designs and Engineering Private Limited. Japan)•The project involved 3D Modeling and Detailing of Electronic Plastic Mould components. •Analysis of the parts for manufacturability.•The Mould Components were modeled parametrically using 2D drawing Tiffs, DXF files and with proper tree structure in Catia V20Client: Daimler India Commercial vehicles Pvt Ltd, Chennai• Project involved in the development of a new Engine component for Bharat Benz trucks. Scanned data of the existing physical model & their cut sections were given by the client as input for construction.• Building of complete parametric models in Catia V5 from given input with maximum deviation of 0.2 mm.• Design modifications as per interactions with Daimler India R & D team. 06/2015 - 10/2021Dimensional Management, drawing quality checking (audit)-· Validation of component drawings to verify that they are adhering to DTNA and ASME Y14.5 Drawing Standards in adrawing release cycle before the final approval· Validation of proper GD&T symbols, material spec, finish, dimension usage as per the functionality of the part.· Suggest for any improvements based on the usage.Frame & attachment team-·As a part of a 4 member team our tasks were on components related to the Chassis Frame of the heavy & medium trucksbuilt at Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation, Japan ( A Daimler A.G company).A brief task overview is as below-· Cross-member, gussets and stiffeners design & detailed drawing creation based on new layout & Packaging studies bybench-marking the on road vehicles to meet the new regulations/ market requirements.Release of Engineering order &Drawings for SOP in FUSO engineering systems.· Addressing the field failure & durability Vehicle test issues like Failure of Battery brackets, ATS mounting brackets etc.by modifying the geometry or by addition of countermeasure stiffeners.·Participating in the biweekly TMC (Total material Cost reduction) meetings to generate ideas to reduce the cost ofChassis components by reducing the variants or changing the manufacturing process or by combining the functionalityof the Parts. Nov 2021 - now
      Sr Design Engineer

11/2021 - Present· As a part of the seven-member team, my responsibilities are to support the Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA)engineering teams in the area of Dimensional Management, GD and T & tolerance stackup analysis studies for Chassis, cab , mechatronics & other related aggregates.Tolerance stackup management-· These tasks are based on the request from the Engineers developing the parts & each one varies with respect to theobjective. Below is a brief update on the tasks carried out.· Was involved in the Short range radar(SRR) variation study mounted on the after treatment system. The radar ismounted on the step supporting bracket which is mounted on an after treatment system. The study was critical as theSRR had a calibration limit & the angular deviations had to be within the limit. As the variation was above the limit in theazimuth direction we proposed a refinement in GD&T along with the possible tolerance changes along with the rejectionrate. The same kind of study was carried out for Bumper mounted, side battery box mounted, Hood mounted SRR setups.·Executed a task from the manufacturing plant wherein the DEF tank mounted on the frame was at an odd angle. Wewere able to detect the cause i,e geometric effect of the mounting bracket & proposed a refinement in the tolerancevalue which was implemented.·Other tasks include finding the minimum gap between the front cross members & the front box (HV battery mount) withthe cooling radiators for the EM2 BEV trucks.Resolution of Battery cover mounting misalignment with the Battery packfor the same vehicle.
