Fill prescriptions and ring up customers. Helping customers on a one-on-one base, ringing them up, answering questions, entering the prescription, fill RXs, and just being a friendly face. It was very important to speak clearly and in a manner that was understandable for the customer. I helped with inventory on a weekly basis. I had to submit claims for insurance and workers compensation.

    • YMCA Safe Visit

      Aug 2005 - Aug 2006
      Program Coordinator

As the Safe Visit Coordinator I answered phones and scheduled Interviews. I also had to prepare paperwork regarding court cases. For example I had to prepare memos, business letters, and an outline of participant's activity in the program. I had to speak on the phone with attorneys on multiple occasions regarding their clients. I had to complete an intake process on each participant which is similar to an interview. I had to keep continuous log of the participants contact with the program, for example phone calls, their payments, and/or letters to or from the participants. Show less

Show less As an Inventory Manager I was responsible for ordering medical supplies for the whole hospital. I have completed courses to enable me to have a government credit card. Examples of items I ordered were: syringes, catheters, operating supplies, bed pans, gauze, adult diapers, etc... My job was a vital aspect for the hospital to run smoothly and keep our veterans happy and healthy while staying at the VA.In the following I will explain my dally routine as Inventory Manager: The first thing I would do when I got to my desk is check my email. I received many emails from different areas in the hospital requesting supplies. I then checked my voicemail. I then print off a list of all the items I have on order and check the status to see if they arrive yet.During the day I would run many reports to see what supplies I need to order. Once I had established what needed to be ordered I assigned each order a Purchase Order Number and began calling the vendors. On an average day I would talk to eight to ten different vendors. I used my government credit card for all orders. I had to keep track of each order closely. I had to monitor when the charge for the supplies hit the credit card, cost of shipping, when it arrived in the warehouse, then I had to add it to our inventory. Show less As a certified pharmacy technician I had to be familiar with medications and usage. I completed orders given by pharmacist for the patients. I answered phone calls from the nurse units who had questions. There are different areas in the pharmacy to cover I have experience in them all; inpatient, outpatient, vault, procurement and IVs. All are important components of the pharmacy. Vista is used on a daily bases to look information up regarding patients and medications. Another responsibility I have is to maintain an updated record of all the crash carts and their expiration dates. I did that by logging each medication on a spread sheet document and those medicationsexpiration dates. There are about twenty medications in the cart so it is important to be accurate on those entries. Show less
