  As a project leader and health innovator I try to find accessible and innovative solutions for people with a visual and cognitive impairment to increase self-sufficiency and quality of life.Bartiméus is a large center of expertise for the visual impaired. The FabLab is the epicentre within Bartiméus that focuses on accessible and adapted technology for people with multiple disabilities and visual impairments. As a health care professional I was responsible for caring for people with a visual and cognitive impairment who need 24-hour help and care. For over 10 years I tried to increase quality of life for this very special target group. As a substitute teacher I worked with children with multiple- and visual disabilities, their disabilities ranging from complex needs, physical disabilities and emotional- and behavioral disorders. Bartiméus is a large organisation of expertise within the Netherlands which provides, care, advice and education for people with a visual impairment.
