      MA History

      Activities and Societies: Part of my Senior Fellowship with James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation -- given to 60 top social science teachers in the United States for a $24,000 grant to complete an MA in the history. Spent one summer in Washington, DC with this Senior Fellowship for six credit course at Georgetown University, which transferred to SDSU for my MA.

      Activities and Societies: Was an RA for two years and worked in the University Library for three-plus years. Member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Found the school by accident and arrived the day before registration with everything I owned in a suitcase and two boxes. I LOVED UD!

      Teach AP U.S. class for juniors and Government for seniors. In 2001 was awarded the "Doing the Right Thing" award by the San Diego Urban League, received three "Excellence in Teaching" awards by the UC Regents, in 2007 named a Senior Fellow of the James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation (paid for my second MA). In 2010 I will be inducted as a "Legend of Coaching" by the San Diego Hall of Champions I am an AP U.S. history teacher in my 18th year at Cathedral Catholic (University of San Diego) High School. I am also working with the administration to develop a seven-period schedule for the school and hopefully create a new Christian/Catholic based honors program for high school students.

      Senior Fellow James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation Sep 2007 This is a teaching scholarship awarded by the JMMFF, which is supported by the U.S. Congress and gives $24,000 towards a Masters Degree. It includes graduate units at Georgetown University on the history of the U.S. Constitution (Summer of 2008). I graduated in 2009
