  During my Minor for Logistics Engineering, I was part of a research team for TKI Dinalog, exploring the options of Supply Chain Finance for SMEs in the Amsterdam – Schiphol area. One of the methods proposed was Reversed Factoring to improve liquidity for small to midsized companies.

  Albert Heijn Home Shop Center (HSC)

  For the Home Shop Center of Albert Heijn, I created a dynamic dashboard in Excel using VBA. With this dashboard, the management team was able to create automatic data reports providing information about product availability in the warehouse. Additionally, some practical changes were made in the production process to improve physical inventory accuracy and system inventory accuracy.

  Thesis

  During this period I developed a method with which the Central Distribution Center of BCC was able to substantially lower inventory costs and reduce the required storage capacity by lowering the average inventory levels with 20 percent. In addition, my research allowed them to further increase their service-levels after a thorough reclassification of the inventory.
