  Acts as Secretary to Solicitors, including Family, General Litigation and Criminal Prosecutions. Performs responsible secretarial, typing and specialized clerical work; drafting and signing of general correspondence; transcribes dictation on correspondence,Statements of Claim, Notices of Appeal, Affidavits, and other legal documents through the use of recording and dictating equipment. Maintains all files in Government Record Centre using TRIM and prepares same for Court, including: List of Documents, Trial Briefs, Appeal Books, Court Orders, etc. Retrieving cases from various internet sites,vi.e. CanLII, etc. from the law library. Daily contact with client departments, solicitors, witnesses and the general public. Schedules out-of-town Court dates, travel arrangements and completes all associated forms which include Travel Claims, Journey Authorizations, Private Vehicle Usage Report, etc. Witnesses documents as Commissioner for Oaths. Performs all duties with minimum supervision in an area requiring a high degree of confidentiality, accuracy and self-motivation. Show less
