I was asked to create a department to manage selected regulatory compliance responsibilities for Bank One, as well as the administration of initiatives surrounding risk, controls and service levels specific to the Corporate Finance line of business within Bank One. Participated in the consolidation of 16 accounts payable departments into a centralized function and then built a quality control and risk management function to oversee those aspects of the 3 million invoices totalling almost $4 billion annually. These responsibilities also included management of the Corporate Credit Card and Purchasing Card programs for the Bank (about 45,000 internal cardholders). I began my Internal Audit experience as a Staff Auditor and progressed to Audit Manager during my tenure in this function. My responsibilities included planning, staffing and executing audit reviews for several clients within the Bank. Budgeting and planning, as well as staff development, were also critical components within this role.
