  Manuel is an EY Partner since 2011Leader of the Climate Change and Sustainability Services for Portugal, Angola and Mozambique.Manuel joined EY in 1999, having started his professional career in Audit - Assurance.Manuel is responsible for the coordination of Sustainability and Climate Change projects, including:- Integration of ESG criteria in the corporate business strategy and reporting for several companies / groups including energy, retail, financial services, real estate, construction, among others.- Support for the development of a roadmap for carbon neutrality for a leading industrial company, including support in the characterization of the reference scenario, carbon neutrality scenarios, and decarbonization options.- ESG due diligences.- Projects to evaluate environmental impacts of products (life cycle analysis and carbon footprint studies), calculation of GHG emission inventories according to GHG Protocol, development of decarbonization plans and definition of goals aligned with climate science (Science-based targets).- Consultancy in the preparation of Sustainability reports for several sector companies / Groups, including taxonomy eligibility.- Verification of sustainability and non-financial information of management and sustainability reports for companies / groups in diverse sectors including financial services in accordance with ISAE 3000 R and AA1000 AS.Manuel has extensive experience auditing national and multinational companies/groups in the energy sector (oil & gas, power & utilities) and industrial companies / groups.Experience in projects related with the improvement of financial statement closing processes, audit readiness / remediation, IFRS conversions, due diligence, fraud investigation projects and providing audit and accounting training.
