A lot of experience on UNIX SunOS O.S. and then on Sun Solaris 2.x; the big migration from YP to NIS+.In my department I managed various functional server, from the main mail server (based on Sendmail), trough the news NNTP server, etc ... the security was carried out server by server, no firewall at all.Scripting (shell, Perl, AWK), C programming, reg exp, powerful editors (VI, emacs) were the must to have knowledge. For my strong commitment and experience I also obtained some salaries. • Cryptonet SPA

      Jan 2000 - Jul 2000
      Security engineer

I started from a strong UNIX system administrator background, as a security engineer.I started with CheckPoint FW-1 firewall and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) by Entrust Technologies; they were two of the main business.Several big companies as end users, and so a lot of experience to preserve the business continuity during a go online.

    • Secure Group

      Nov 2000 - Dec 2006
      Business Manager Computer Security

Starting from several switch and router configuration (NAS), trough RSA SecurID strong authentication, and to CheckPoint FW-1 and StoneSoft Stonegate. It was the time of external penetration tests and of internal Ethical Hackings, because a lot services (web, DNS, etc) are directly exposed, before coming of web application firewall (WAF), Intrusion Prevention System (IPS).The next step was hardening: server by server, or via windows policy (GPO) to follow the idea of security as maintenance day by day.Succesfully I embraced reverse proxy and firewall advanced architectures (link balancing, etc).I was in charge of the business security unity. Business Developer

Intrusion Detection and Prevention System (IDS, IPS) are becoming the next "nice to have" milestone in each big security architecture from a perimeter point of view.SIEM are becoming "popular", NetForensics was the first "big" approach to the enterprise logic, followed by a different RSA enVision and finally by a Cisco MARS attempt.Because of mine UNIX sys admin (SunOS 4.x/Solaris 2.x, Linux) and security hardening experiences I leaded an hardening project on IBM AIX, five consultants in a long term project into an insurance company.Other approaches to automatic/periodic penetration tests.Due to my passion and knowledge I carried out several L3/LAN configurations at data center level mainly with Cisco technology too (CatOS and IOS), but examining some traversal problems due to inter-brand coexistence like Spanning Tree Protocol (STP).First steps in secure web gateway theme via BlueCoat ware. • Sinergy

      Nov 2009 - Dec 2019
      Senior security consultant

Technical Account Manager (TAM) & Pre-Sales engineer.Approaching the last SIEM installations, I moved further to web gateway solutions: from Websense Web Filter and Security toward to McAfee WebGateway; various installations of websense ahead, ranging from mid to large (3-400 to 10000), I began the DLP theme (newly by Websense/Forcepoint brand). While the Stonesoft (now Forcepoint) solution continue to be in my focus, the Fortinet Fortigate solutions enlarge my experience.A big as different improvement has been the wan optimization theme, carried forward with Riverbed Steelhead technology; actually the river-to-river, rather than mobile client to river, and finally the 365/cloud architecture are in my background.Actually I'm approaching CASB.Not to forget: Show less
