The project correlated the amount of E. coli in school toilet facilities and amount of E. coli in hand-rinsed water from school children. Participated in sample and data collection, microbial analysis to detect E. coli from environmental swabs and hand-rinse water samples.

Recently completed projects include a UNICEF-funded data collection pilot project for safely managed onsite sanitation systems (SMOSS) in Kenya; a US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) – funded project on development of public toilet cleaning and disinfection standard operating procedures in Kisumu, Kenya. Successfully managed projects of over $1M cumulatively in the last 5 years. • Waste collection product owner – implementing safely managed faecal sludge emptying and transport technologies and practices in secondary cities. • Capture manager (proposal development) for waste collection and R&D opportunities. • Conceptualizing and development of laboratory trials, field trials and research projects. • Development of data collection tools for R&D and waste collection projects - tools for desktop reviews, key informant interviews, focus group discussions, surveys and observations. • Data analysis and reporting for all projects managed. • Training laboratory technicians, research assistants, and interns on research protocols and data collection procedures (mobile-based and hard copy surveys). Proficient in designing KoBo Collect surveys. • Coordination and management of project logistics including purchasing and sustaining lab and research supplies, obtaining ethical review certificates, obtaining National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI) research permits recruiting and managing field staff, and coordinating field logistics.• Developing work breakdown structures and budgets for projects assigned, and ensuring the same are adhered to throughout the project cycle. • Project stakeholder management, impact quantification and communication through research papers/ articles and presenting in conferences to communicate findings and impact, and increase credibility.
