  Branched out into MongoDB and NodeJS development, after years of working with Oracle/SQLServer and Java/Struts/Spring. I'm amazed at the power of looking at the data model from a non-relational perspective--so much more efficient for specific purposes. The non-blocking nature of NodeJS is alluring, but requires care to avoid stack overflows. All-in-all, this was a good experience, and one which reminded me of the value of involved management, sustainable processes, and stakeholder participants.

  My role includes the development of in-house reports, database transfers, data migration and ad-hoc queries. The primary development languages are SQL Server Transact-SQL (T-SQL), Python, and Excel/Access/VBA. I am the lead/sole developer on an effort to migrate a social services tracking system including implementing automated daily procedures that synchronize data between two cloud-based management systems (Yardi and Apricot).
