  Marshall Music was started on the 1st March 1986 by Jazz drummer John E Marshall (Johnny) after leaving Polliaks, bringing the Premier Agency with him, an agency he has had since 1958. The company specialized in classic and marching instruments and fast became the top dealer in the country. His son Dayne Marshall took up some of the reins as co-director in 1993 and got the company to start dealing and importing more pop/rock type instruments such as electric and acoustic guitars, bass guitars, and drum kits.In 1997 the directors saw the opportunity to expand with the ever growing demand and Marshall Music migrated to its current location in Woodmead Commercial park where the store has since expanded to more than three times its original size, becoming the largest musical instrument retail warehouse in Gauteng. Marshall Music has rapidly expanded ever since to a boast of 10 stores Nationwide ( JHB, PTA, CPT, PMB & DBN ) with the addition of an exciting new online store, MARSHALL MUSIC DIRECT.We continue to supply Musicians, Churches, Schools, Theaters, Live music venues, Restaurants, hire companies, studios and more covering all their musical needs.
