      I was part of a team of volunteers recording data on the abundance, distribution and behaviour of marine mammal species (Tursiops truncatus, Phocoena phocoena and Halichoerus grypus) and photo-ID capture-mark-recapture techniques, during boat and land-based surveys in Cardigan Bay, West Wales.

      I was assisting Chiara Bertulli in recording the abundance, distribution and behaviour of cetaceans (Balaenoptera acutorostrata, Lagenorhynchus albirostris, Megaptera novaeangliae, Orcinus orca and Phocoena phocoena) and photo-ID capture-mark-recapture techniques, from tourist whale watching vessels in Faxafloi Bay, along the south west coast of Iceland.

      As part of the Seiche team of passive acoustic monitoring (PAM) operatives, I remotely monitor for the presence of marine mammals (using Seiche PAM equipment and PAMGuard), for mitigation purposes during offshore survey activities in the Gulf of Mexico and the Northern Atlantic. Information and data, regarding the processes and progress of each survey, is collated and described as part of a consultation report and presented at regular intervals throughout the duration of the projects in accordance with legislation and company policy. I have also been involved with developing effective reporting processes, with regards to the remote monitoring team, for the Northern Atlantic project. Show less

This survey is a collaborative effort between UK (MARINElife) and French government and academic institutions (Ifremer and the University de La Rochelle). The survey is aimed at assessing the presence and abundance of species in offshore marine habitats found throughout the Western Channel.
