      This position existed to design, implement, and sustain system structures and processes ensuring excellence in professional practice: quality, efficiency, effectiveness, and research across an 18-hospital system. This role was responsible for adherence to professional nursing practice model and nursing excellence principles demonstrated in ANCC Magnet sources of evidence; design and execution of processes, structures, and roles enabling system-wide nursing research and evidence-based nursing and patient care practice serving approximately 5000 employees. Accomplishments include: Magnet redesignation with exemplars, provided strategic direction aligning the Interprofessional Practice Model (IPM) and Shared Governance structure with Integrated Operations Plan and performance targets recognized Gold Standard exemplar, co-directed redesign of accreditation and regulatory affairs consolidating three disparate departments and teams eliminating an over-reliance on one to a systematic approach to accreditation readiness contributing to successful ODH-CMS, Joint Commission, UNOS, CARF, and ACS surveys, 40% reduction in serious harm, 25% CLABSI reduction, and 70% PI reduction, strategic direction for research in Patient Services resulting in 24 awards totaling $ 3.8M, 57 peer-reviewed publications, centralization of professional development standardizing role development, competencies, and contribution, FTE BSN and higher % at the bedside: 82.3%, FTE Certification % at the bedside: 57.3%, Residency retention after 1 year: 98%, University of Cincinnati College of Nursing co-operative program retention after 3 years: 97%, award winner AACN Research Impact as a result leading research examining the impact of virtual reality on new nurse learner early recognition (situation awareness) of deterioration among hospitalized infants.
