  Founder of Research Group

  Founder and treasurer of a research group focused on reducing glare using a spatial light modulator and liquid crystal displays. Project GLARE received $16,500 from the Shanahan Project Fund to research and develop this idea. Our goal is to create a transparent LCD screen that uses light-sensing cameras to lower the intensity of light from passing through certain areas of glass. This can be used to improve driver visibility by dimming light from headlights and the sun. Project GLARE is currently a team of 6 people. We developed a photoresistor circuit that interpreted incoming light intensity data in real-time. We are currently developing a final product for presentation by June 2024. Show less

  I oversee a team of 8 to organize fundraisers and social events at my dorm with 100 residents. The position grants me a seat in the Senate at Harvey Mudd where I regulate Harvey Mudd's constitution and vote on budget decisions within the college. I have graded and tutored my peers in the following classes: Materials Engineering, Engineering Statistics, Linear Algebra, Multivariable Calculus, and Principles of Computer Science. These positions consisted of hosting academic help sessions where students could ask any questions on concepts they didn't understand in the course. I also provided feedback on assignments for ~250 students in the classes where I served.

  Experimental Engineering Researcher

  I worked on discovering a commercially viable lead-free brass alloy. My Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) scans along with the hardness and ductility testing I did allowed the team to analyze different alloys to measure their viability. I prepared elements down to a thousandth gram precision, then used a furnace to smelt them into a rod which I then tested. I also did computational work using Thermocalc where I utilized all data that has been published in order to predict what compositions will occur from casting an alloy without having to physically cast that alloy.   I'm working on a team of 2 Engineers at Harvey Mudd to complete a contract project with Audio Technica. The contract was to redesign the circuit in their Bluetooth headphones that indicates to the user via LED whether there are any minute peaks in the audio signal that cross the set maximum threshold for volume.
