      Working in the Investigative Services Bureau, Criminal Investigations Division, Domestic Violence Unit with the DC Metropolitan Police Department. Duties include assisting with establishing relationships with outside law enforcement agencies, university police departments, and Housing Police within the region, as well as developing training topics for recruit training, In-Service training and Roll Call training. Also, Brianna Manley assisted with establishing community outreach contacts and programs to provide awareness about domestic violence to the public. Working closely with the Domestic Violence Officers, victims and advocates in the DVICs. Researching the best in practice policies for the department, research grant programs, and developing databases to monitor repeat victims, suspects, and locations. Brianna worked with Microsoft Excel, Pivot tables, got exposure to grant writing and gained an understanding of the judicial system surrounding the Domestic violence system. She spent time documenting and keeping well detailed logs of the information, and got exposure to real life statistics in DV from 2014. Brianna spoke with victims of domestic violence and worked along with DC SAFE, DC Legal Aid Society, Crime Victims Compensation and the DC Court system to provide the best assistance possible to victims of domestic violence who reached out for help.
