    • Starbucks

      Jan 2010 - Dec 2013
      Barista

While working at Starbucks, delivering outstanding customer service was a top priority. On top of working to ensure customer satisfaction, I became a certified trainer, which entailed helping new employees transition into the position and fast-paced environment. After a promotion to Shift Supervisor, I was tasked with the responsibilities of financial and store management. In addition to learning the tasks of the position, I also learned a lot about what it takes to lead a team. At any given time, I was responsible for up to 6 team members, Working at Starbucks was a great experience, and it was fantastic to learn the operational procedures of such a large, successful corporation. • Upton Fire EMS

      Jan 2011 - now
      Paid on Call firefighter/EMT

As a Fire Fighter/ NREMT, I respond to many different incidents including structure fires, search and rescue, brush fires, life-threatening medical emergencies, non life-threatening medical emergencies, automobile accidents with and without entrapment, hazardous materials incidents, local disaster relief, along with many more duties. Continuous improvement is an essential aspect of this position, and comes often in the form of weekly trainings. Being active in extracurricular activities within the department is personally important, so I also sought out opportunities to grow outside the traditional confines of the position. This has lead to the personal commitment to several committees, such as the training committee and the explorer post, which is a program designed for kids in high school who want to take part in the fire service but are too young to perform all the duties of a firefighter. I also volunteer at the local elementary schools and help teach young children about fire safety and fire prevention. I was nominated and voted upon as the secretary of our in-house fire association. I was also nominated and voted upon as the Massachusetts Call Volunteer Fire Association (MCVFA) delegate to represent the department. Show less

      EMT

Working at Community EMS has allowed me to provide world-class patient care in an emergency environment as well as non-emergency environment. As well as the care of patients, there are other administrative tasks that are vital to the safety and success of our care. These tasks include communicating with hospital medical staff for appropriate transfer of care, the constant checking and maintaining apparatus and reporting any safety issues that may come up.
