      Activities and Societies: UBFS (Film-making society) - Founding member. Made short films and instigated a nationwide student film festival. Project in third year looked at modelling the action of a car's suspension system. The aim was to simplify a complex 40-degree of freedom model down to 3, whilst retaining accuracy.       I worked as a Designer and CAD (CATIA v5) operator on wing structures, primarily for new aircraft and research projects.In addition to this period of work, Airbus (formerly British Aerospace) sponsored me through university so I worked a full year prior to university ('98-'99) on the factory floor as well as on a group project.There were various technical and business placements in subsequent summer holidays before I joined the company full-time in 2005.A three month placement with Virgin Atlantic was also included as part of the graduate scheme in order to view the industry from the customer's point of view.       Since I finished the IDE course I have been freelancing and worked on a wide variety of tasks, running the gamut from creative to technical for such clients as Ebee, Epson, Intel, Loowatt, the Royal College Of Art, Seeper, Spark Create, Studio XO and WPP. I have helped make fashion garments with integrated technology for major pop stars, exhibition designs on the future of retail and even a waterless toilet for use in developing countries.I am always on the lookout for new, interesting adventures and challenges, and work on many projects in my spare time to increase my learning.       Loowatt are concerned with converting waste streams into energy, mainly for developing countries. Centred around a waterless toilet, I designed and built the prototype mechanism at its heart, as well as the surrounding body and installation. I managed its production process and liased with manufacturers. I also spent five weeks in the capital of Madagascar helping to install the pilot scheme, aided in part by funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
