      Jul 2012 - Jul 2015
      Stage managment/Runner

I worked on a number of large events throughout the year, upwards of 500 schoolchildren in venues such as Southbank's Royal Festival and Queen Elizabeth Hall. When clearer leadership was required, I worked closely with the creative staff to execute stage transitions and the relay the information and delegate duties to the running team. This role honed my problem solving skills, organisation and logistical experience, and my people skills - particularly with children.

      May 2013 - Jun 2013
Audio & Music Factual Departmental Runner‏

I assisted the producers and production co-ordinators in a number of shows: two live daily programmes; Woman's Hour on BBC Radio 4 and Outlook on the BBC World Service, a weekly live programme; The Media Show and a weekly pre-recorded show Loose Ends. The majority of my time was spent with the Woman's Hour team.I helped organise the live guests on the programmes, collecting them at reception, ensuring they were relaxed and comfortable, and escorting them between the green rooms and studios. A particularly important task during a live show, time-keeping was essential yet the guests were not to feel rushed or stressed, this was a good use of my strong organisational and people skills.Another part of my role was to respond to listener emails and letters, exercising my professional and appropriate writing style, I would respond with as much detail as I could in a polite and concise manner. I also made good use of my honed research skills, helping producers research for items and finding contact details for potential live guests, as well finding news items for the show, a number of which were included live on air during my time there. With a specialist show such as Woman's Hour, I was commended for swiftly grasping the angle of the show and being able to peg items appropriately. Show less
