      The Government of Canada, in the BC Region, participation, as an employer, in the Indigenous Intern Leadership Program falls under the employment pillar in the MOU signed by the BC Federal Council and the First Nations Leadership Council. The MOU is an authentic collaboration grounded in the principle of ‘reciprocal learning’. I am coordinating for the federal participation in the IILP.

      We (11 First Nations) have signed an accord to work together as one in regards to our shared issues and goals for what Parks Canada calls the Guif Islands National Marine Park Reserve and the National Marine Conservation Area Reserve, both located in what they have named the Salish Sea.

      This is a volunteer position, for a term of 1 year. Toastmasters values are Respect, Integrity, Serve, and Excellence. I maintained these values as I liaison between the Area 13 clubs and the District 21 leadership. I shared information from the clubs to district and vice-versa. My primary responsibility was to support and assist the clubs in reaching their goals. I believe every club deserves to be a Distinguished Club.
