      Learned the chemical and physical restraints of wild animals through shadowing a wildlife vet. Attended lectures and visited case studies in order to gain experience on the management, handling and care of captive predator populations. Helped in the design and improvement of current enclosures for captive predators. Tracked and monitored big cats in the field. Attended lectures on parasites, diseases and vaccination. Shadowed an anti-poaching team and attended talks on prevention measures.

      Prepared all feeds for designated sections and carried out the feeding of captive animals. Maintained the security and cleanliness of enclosures. Assisted during the release of rehabilitated animals. Assisted during operations and administration of medication. Attended conservation talks to maintain and enhance my knowledge within the conservation sector. Took part in bush walks. Assisted in the feeding and care of orphaned ungulates at the centre.
