      My main role as an ecologist is to assess a variety of habitats and identify the presence of protective species by undertaking numerous wildlife surveys for bats, badgers, dormice, reptiles, water voles, barn owl, amphibians etc. I assess the importance of these habitats and provide mitigation strategies to protect the wildlife and enhance the biodiversity of the site. I obtained my CL29 Class Licence for Barn Owl in 2019 and Level 2 Class Licence for Bats in 2020 Having the responsibility of managing protective species surveys for reptiles and great created newts such as relocating amphibians and undertaking reptile translocations. I can safely handle native UK reptile species including the UK’s only venomous snake, the adder. I also shadowed on bat building assessments and dormice surveys. In 2018 I obtained my Level 1 Class Licence for great created newts. Undertaking a variety of protective species surveys such as managing reptile presence / likely absence surveys, amphibian assemblage surveys and bat emergence surveys.
