  Based at Sport City and the Natonal Cycling Centre in Manchester, UK, I completed a wide range of assigned tasks and major projects, in regards to current publication research, laboratory assistance, elite Olympic and Paralympic athlete training session assistance, and new product research testing.Working in co-operation with physiologists, strength and conditioning coaches, sports science lab technicians, performance analysts and general managers on a daily basis. Main role was to complete 6 individually assigned projects, consisting of a dissertation pilot study and proposal, chosen BASES competencies, two detailed literature reviews in a relevant field to sprint track cycling performance, quantitative data entry from elite athlete training sessions, cycling lab equipment comparison study and a reliability study. Other projects completed during placement included: Capture video footage of elite BMX cyclist training, in conjunction performance analysts; developing a quantitative excel permanent template for elite GB Taekwondo athlete training data, in conjunction with strength and conditioning coaches; test and recording data for latest heated garments to be used by all track cyclists at London 2012 Olympic Games; Practice conducting anthropometric skinfold measurements to determine body fat %; Road cycling bike calibration, to transfer exact athlete specification to SRM cycling ergometer based in the lab; calibration of Oxycon equipment ready for athlete testing; Assist with Paralympic athlete training and record aural temperatures.
