  As my career in music education advances, I'm delighted to be in the position of strengthening CSU's School of Music. My administrative role includes faculty and staff hiring and management, budgetary planning, department advancement through donor relations, goal setting, and oversight of all curriculum and class scheduling. My goals include reducing costs, improving student recruitment and retention, building cooperative community relationships with organizations that are mutually beneficial, and facilitating program improvements across multiple degree programs. Professional development is important to me, not just for my staff and instructors, but also for myself as I am interested in becoming a dean, and eventually an assistant provost, if my career years allow me the opportunity.   As Artistic Director, I had the privilege of selecting repertoire that reflected feminist values and the core principles of Windsong including environmentalism, feminist history, women empowerment, and strength of community. As a music educator, I was able to help women find their best singing voices and teach music basics to those who didn't read music. The best part was the sense of communitas with like-minded women of all ages and abilities.
