  My duties at Canon expanded past the lines of Sales Executive for photocopiers, faxes and business machines. During my career, I was accountable for defined geographical territorial areas. I managedexisting accounts while generating a huge volume of new business. My responsibilities also spanned to direct marketing for the accounts that were in my general area at large.While employed at Canon, I was asked to focus on product sales, which included photocopiers, faxes and multiple devices. I have the ability to engage with people and to help them understand the benefits of the products and services we provided. I’m very much at home when I’m conversing with business owners, outlining the key features on how the products and services we offered would benefit their company financially. I enjoyed selling something I could believe in, it was tangible and I believed inthe benefits that our service would have to their business. During my ten years of service in the sales department at Canon, I was consistently one of the top five sales representatives in the company, winning Sale Executive of the year on two occasions.   With my colleague Don Cameron (RIP) and a staff of one we starteded the company in 2004. The staff numbers grew up to six people during the first three years in business. We invested heavily in marketing the company and being proactive in gaining a large local market share. I was able to embark on setting up a strong team to hit the ground with the best processes for success.

  After growing TOS Limerick Ltd, we decided to rebrand the company and regiestered Cantec as our trading name, we grew the the company to a team of nine. We were able to place a growing number of Printing & Multifunctional units out in the market. Our business grew successfully as we focused our attention on looking after our clients growing needs. We provided our clients with a high levels ofcustomer service and the confidence to rely on us as a partner. Over the following years, service revenues increase dramatically, enabling the business to go forward.In the advent of the recession of 2009, our growth was curtailed. However, we continued to invest revenue back into the company for stabilised gains. By marketing certain products and looking closely at the margins, we were able to cultivate the business organically ourselves to a higher success rate. Show less

  Cantec Business Technology

  Jan 2012 - now

  Director and Co-Founder

  In 2012, Cantec Limerick merged companies with Cantec Waterford and formed one large company, Cantec Business Technology. The merger increased our staff count to over 20 team members. This was an exciting time with some great opportunities to build from the foundations that had been laid and the complementary skills we both brought to the partnership. With the practicalities of our merger carefully thought through, we all had a good understanding of the best route to grow the business going forward and were able to collaborate strategically.
