  Kani - A Cultural Gathering

  I headed the Aesthetics and Online Designing Department of my school's cultural festival, Kani. This year, the theme we created focused on Retro Futurism and Altered Reality, which lead to the birth of 'Altroism'. The word ‘Altroism’ is derived from the concepts of ‘Retro-futurism’ and ‘Altered reality.’ Retro-futurism, is a term that people of past used to describe, how they believed the present would look like. Whereas, altered reality is the creation of an environment where objects of the real world are enhanced digitally. With the backdrop of Covid-19 Pandemic, we decided to inculcate ideas of giving back to the society within our theme. Kani is centered around themes of women empowerment and fostering a safe, inclusive environment for people of all genders and sexualities. As the head of the department, some of my key achievements include: ● Designing the logo, theme, brochures, website, 100+ promotional posts, and videos for the festival, and t-shirts, hoodies, and masks for all the volunteers● Interviewing 70+ interested students to be a part of the team and successfully recruiting and managing 30 for a year Show less
